The mystery of the vampire lure made it's way to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for Romanian-born designer, Dorin Negrau. The designer, presenting his collection for the first time in New York, found inspiration in traditional Romanian costume and the intricate embroidery and pattern-making techniques used by his grandmother and women of Romania.
The collection, which was largely black and white with some brightly embroidered details on the waist of some pieces, was a daring tribute to Transylvania, Dracula and Romanian tradition. The zombie-like models, with their slashed red stitched lips and Goth hair and make-up, were in trance-like states stomping down the runway. Some were in revealing gauze, cotton, leather and lace outfits, and others in black, satin gowns made its way down the runway with lace and sequin overlays shaped like crosses.
The looks will be available for pre-order starting September 25th on the designer website www.negrau-shop.com.
